Safety guidelines to follow when using your Craftsman aerator attachment

  • Read and follow the safety and operations guidelines in the owner's manual when using the aerator. Make sure all users are familiar with safety and operations guidelines before using the equipment.
  • Never allow children to operate the lawn tractor or aerator attachment. Adult operators should be familiar with operating the lawn tractor and aerator attachment before using the equipment.
  • The aerator knives have sharp points. Wear work gloves and appropriate footwear when handling the attachment.
  • Don't allow anyone to ride or sit on the plug aerator attachment frame or on the lawn tractor when using the aerator attachment.

Operating tips to follow when using your Craftsman aerator attachment

  • Mow your lawn and remove loose clippings prior to aerating.
  • Start the tractor engine with its controls in neutral and place the throttle at slow engine speed. Engage the shift lever at the lowest possible forward speed then lower the aerator, allowing plugger points to enter the turf.
  • Increase tractor speed as conditions permit.
  • Aerate in the straightest line possible, making overlapping passes to increase the plugger point pattern.
  • Avoid extremely sharp turns with plugger points engaged in ground to prevent damage to lawn.
