Easy to install

Received the belt before they said it would be delivered. It took my husband about an hour to install the belt and put my garage door opener back up.

Pretty easy installation
June 25, 2018|Ramone, Palm Harbor, Florida

Watched Sears YouTube video and it was helpful. Not sure why the tech lowered the opener and track unless there was some clearance issues. I left mine in place and worked off a ladder. Also didn't totally remove the threaded tensioner as there was plenty of slack to disconnect old belt and reconnect new one. Taking my time, it probably took about a half hour to replace the belt. I would occasionally find small rectangular rubber pieces on my garage floor and finally found it was the cogs from the belt breaking off. I backed off on the 'down' tension as much as I could to take the torque off the belt since that is where the cogs were coming off the belt.

Challenging to install by yourself

Took me about an hour to install by myself. Would be much easier if you had a helper. Definitely need the installation manual from the garage opener to adjust the opening and closing.

Not the easist thing to install
August 19, 2018|fred1, Windermere, FL

It took about an hour to install. With the help of a buddy and two 6' step ladders. We chose to replace the belt in it's operating position instead of taking it down and working on it. Requires tools.

41A5250 Garage door belt
July 30, 2018|Sparky4, Houston

This is my first time replacing a garage door opener belt. Since I read, but didn't follow the directions it only took me 30 minutes. You will need the directions for some information. I downloaded mine from the Sears parts direct website. You don't need to drop the unit to the floor. I wiped down the trolley rail with 3-in-One Garage door lube to clean it. I set the garage door opener to the open position. Release the garage door so you can close it to remove the pulley. Remove belt, if the belt is not broken, loosen the the adjuster to release the spring tension. It makes it easier to remove the belt. Positioned the trolley 2 inches from the fully open stop bolt. If haven't loosened the adjusting bolt that. Install the new belt at the garage door end and replace pulley, I would put some grease on the pulley bolt. The hardest part was trying to hold the trolley in place while inserting the hook end of the belt onto the trolley. I adjusted the spring tension as shown it the directions " 1 1/4" spring compression" I didn't need to make any adjustment for the door open, close or force.
